I have seen the eldership ruined more times by men, not because they were poor elders, but, sadly, because they were poor Christians.
@christopherchelpka Maybe I should stay in my own lane, but as a former Calvinist and an occasionally observant human being, I concur with the "poor Christian" part. Where we likely would differ is on how to become a less poor Christian, where I'd favor James K.A. Smith's "liturgies" over "the devotional life" — without disrespect to the latter.
