All the faith leaders coming into the coronation together, and then our Hindu Prime Minister and our Muslim Scottish First Minister, is surprising moving. The UK ain’t doing many things right at the moment, but being a multi faith democracy is one of them.

@adders My wife and I were discussing this during the ceremony. Do we see anything like this in non-Christian states? The ceremony was thoroughly Christian, but other faiths were welcomed and honoured.

@adders @KyleEssary I agree, except that the ceremony was thoroughly high Protestant Christian.

What debt of gratitude we owe the Anglican Church for preserving great western sacred music!

@KyleEssary Ten years ago, I would have said, it happens all the time in India. Unfortunately, not anymore.

@pratik That’s sad. I can’t imagine it in Malaysia. Malaysia is a multi-faith society, but law and practice place one faith above others.

@pratik And since the government and royalty must come from that faith, there is an allowance of other faiths but not the same respect.
