Kind of wondering if California and other blue states will just defy SCOTUS as they continue to erode personal rights of women and non-white citizens.

@hawaiiboy Re Dodd, they won't be defying SCOTUS, since the decision returned abortion law to the states. I think we'll see a weird patchwork of opposed state laws, states like CA setting up as abortion destinations, and ever-deepening national fragmentation. Gonna be ugly.

@hawaiiboy If you can set aside concerns based on identity, you should focus on one of the last certiorari grants before summer recess: the North Carolina case implicating the “independent state legislature“ notion.

I am fervently hoping that the Supreme Court took this case mindful of 2024, when some theorists (and possibly some nominees like Doug Mastriano in Pennsylvania) intend to use it to steal the Presidential election.
