It’s great that a lot of media outlets stopped airing Trump’s diatribe yesterday and reacted strongly to it. But why only now? Ellen K Pao. (@ekp on Twitter) summarised it well:
@mangochutney It makes perfect sense to me: Trump has been great for business for the past 4 years. Now that he's a lame duck, they're moving on. In other words, Pao isn't being quite cynical enough.
@mjkaul Second that. When I subscribed to the anti-Trump Washington Post, my password was AllTrumpAllDayPleaseStop. Left or right, he got the all-important clicks.
@mjkaul It appears that Congressional Republicans are cooling almost as quickly as the media. Trump can scarcely get a hearty endorsement for his frothing-mouth mutterings.
