My reaction to yesterday’s product announcements:

  • iPhone: just got a new one last year. A couple years from now the Air/Pro decision may be hard.
  • AirPods Pro: Will upgrade when my old ones die.
  • Watch Ultra 3: not enough upper from my Ultra 2 to tempt me.

Guess my wallet is safe.

@cjhubbs I’m on an iPhone 15 Pro. One of the reasons I went pro was to keep mine for as long as possible so I’m safe from that part (I honestly don’t know what I’d do if it were my ”time” to upgrade. The basic 17 has gained a load of the features I loved in the Pro). I’m almost excited for my AirPod Pros (gen 1) to die so i can get the new ones!

@ChrisJWilson I got an iPhone 16 Pro last year with the same motivation. I’m glad to have another couple years to watch the new feature sets iron out a bit and see what’s available at gen 19 or 20.

@cjhubbs I am on the 13 pro and not sure I want another pro. However, the 17, Air and Pro are coming closer and closer together. The Air is the only one that is interesting me at the moment.

@cjhubbs Can’t afford it right now, but I really should upgrade from my iPhone 11 (bought in November 2019). That said, I’m annoyed that the two best color options are both on the Pro — I don’t need the high-end cameras, so the base 17 (or even the 16 or 16e) would be perfectly fine for me.
