@maique Can you switch the App Grid to the List view? I had my last Apple Watch in that mode and much preferred it.

@SimonWoods I can, yes. Tried it, and couldn’t get used to it. Took me WAY longer to find the app I wanted 😔

@maique Sounds great. I ordered mine after trying it on in the store on the release day, but because of that I have to wait until November 15th. 🙈

@eay It will arrive soon enough 🙂 I’m really enjoying mine, and I have said, multiple times in the past, that I would never own one again 🤣🤣

@maique Very interesting. And tempting. And I still think I want this paired with an iPad, but Apple doesn't support that yet. It looks like the watch could be the point of communication for all other devices in the future.

@cliffordbeshers @maique If I could pair it with my iPad and do everything that way, I would very likely ditch my phone.

@cliffordbeshers @pimoore I can see that 🙂 Not having an iPad, or having an iPad that we never use, makes this a blind spot for me. But I can imagine how useful that might be.

@pimoore the only reason I have an iPhone is to pair with the watch. I use Google Voice and a cellular ipad mini is my mobile device. The watch was a gift, and I am slowly growing more used to using it. I have a sim in the iphone, but it is on a parked plan, at $3/month.

@maique thanks for sharing. Zero is another good fasting app

@Munish Thank you. I tried it, it was fine, but I got the impression it had most of the features behind a subscription, and I wasn’t ready to commit to a rather expensive plan, when I don’t need all of it. Simple has a nicer free tier, and that’s basically all I need.

@maique oooh yes, I know what you mean. I just sometimes use Zeros free plan for the timing. I have never paid for it.

@Munish Simple has that as well, but it will tell you in what phase you are. In the end, if that’s all you need, you’re good. But I felt not having that information, so basic, and available in all the free tiers of other apps I looked into, was a bit too barebones, and a little cheap of them.

@maique @munish Thanks for this discussion. I have been using Zero. Downloaded Simple to try it out too. Both free versions.

@maique I can understand that one.

@Munish @pratik I get it that diet plans, or any kind of coaching, should be paid features, but have a harder time to understand something as simple as where you are in the fasting timeline could be behind a paywall. These apps can be really full featured, for those who wish to use them to their full potential, but this is really basic stuff.

Fastic was great, but didn’t have a watch app that would let me know the time left. Zero has that, but not much (anything?) else. Simple seems to let me check that, and has plenty more if I wish to pay. I find that reasonable.

@maique @Munish Yup. The paid versions are full-on nutritional plans, food logging, etc. I’m just trying to lose some weight and keep it there. Maybe at some point I may have to 😝

@maique I've been intermittent fasting for 5+ years, but I mostly keep to a schedule: 11am to 7pm. That's when I eat and I fast from 7pm to 11am. What do Simple or other apps offer?

@mariovillalobos They offer a lot more stuff, like meal plans, insights, discounts on books,…

As I said, I use it mostly for the timer. And I try to keep to my schedule (fasting from 8PM to noon), but sometimes I’ll go longer, and other I’ll finish dinner a lot before, or skip it. I just need a timer, in fact. I just like to see the phase of the process I’m in, but that’s me being picky.

@maique I get it! I have my little apps and rituals that other people would look at me funny if they knew how picky I was with them. Nerds, amirite??
