I did some “winter cleaning” of the micro.blog accounts I followed. I unfollowed all the dormant accounts. I am now following 45 fewer accounts.

following@pratik it is a more relevant timeline for me. It's primarily photographers. I think it's exceptionally challenging to find people of similar interest on micro.blog.
During any weekend of an F1 race, I can easily find a tribe of thousands on Twitter with one hashtag, #F1. I found one F1 fan on micro.blog. He abandoned the service a while ago. 🤷🏽♂️
@khurtwilliams At some point, it’s just a question of numbers. MB may have ~10K users. Twitter has 300m. It’s fine to have groups of different interests on different platforms.
@pratik if micro.blog continues in this vein. I will go elsewhere. I doubt I will be missed. I've come and gone from Micro.blog several times before since the Kickstarter.
@khurtwilliams I like F1. Just saying
@khurtwilliams I guess we stay where we’re happy. I enjoy following you even if I don’t respond to most posts.
@Munish yes, I think we chatted about the last race where Lewis was cheated out of a world championship. Searching the timeline is not possible. This is how I found the few F1 related posts. Finding you was pure luck.
@munish I was wrong. It's still there: https://micro.blog/discover/racing
It looks like my posts were flooding the channel. 🤣
@khurtwilliams ha - there we go - note to self read the thread completely before commenting 🤷
@khurtwilliams I don’t expect to find anyone here by specific interests - just a group of people that have things to say (nicely) and that occasionally flushes out things that I didn’t know I was interested in until I read something ….

@pratik @khurtwilliams If I may quote myself. 😊
So, my guess is less than 10,000 (human) users, most of them inactive. […] My gut tells me it's somewhere in the hundreds to lower thousands.
@khurtwilliams I tend to do cyber-housekeeping like that on all my accounts every few months... Keeps the cruft away!
