What do you use to track TV Shows/Seasons? I don’t need social features, etc. Something to basically allow me to add shows, mark episodes I’ve seen, & see what’s up next. I’ve been using TV Forecast (connects with trackt.tv). No complaints, but I’m up for renewal and would like to see options.

@Mtt plex is using justwatch APIs (IIRC), if you want to go there directly

@Mtt Reelgood .. but it is no Letterboxd - who in turn were talking about widening to TV a couple of years ago .. but I’ve seen zippo.

@toddgrotenhuis I’m actually a big time Plex user, but I’ve never used it for simple tracking. I’m not even real sure where to find the ability to do that?

@JohnPhilpin Hmmm. I’d have to see if there’s a way to import from Trakt. It doesn’t appear (at first glance at least) that it syncs with them.

@Mtt it’s in the “watchlist” menu.

It’s integrated with the rest of plex, so, for example, if you have a show that’s in your library and marked as to-watch, then it will automatically update your watch status.

Things outside plex you still need to tell the watchlist that you’ve seen them.

@Mtt I am definitely not the best qualified on this space .. pretty sure that pratik@writing.exchange knows a lot more

@Mtt I’ve been digging Sequel (maybe iOS / macOS only?) but haven’t paid for it yet. Trying to balance my love of Letterboxd for movies, but wanting to track tv and other things as well.

@Mtt I’ve been using Marathon. Don’t use the social stuff so it’s not necessary to use the app at all. apps.apple.com/us/app/ma…

@Mtt I will say no Trak.tv though which is a bummer. They’ve said it’s on the roadmap. Also, saw Sequel mentioned, which does have Trak BUT there is issues with the new free plans and syncing so I don’t think that works any longer if you are a heavy user of Trak and don’t pay for that service.

@endonend Good to know on both. Marathon does look nice. May try it anyway.

@Mtt I did forget they have one time Trak import, which is nice. I used it before Marathon for sure, so brought in my history. Hopefully they add sync soon. Then, I feel like it would be perfect.

@pratik Twiddling my thumbs in anticipation. Won’t make a decision until I hear your thoughts!

@pratik @matt I settled on TV Forecast as my main app and Trakt as a secondary. TV Forecast collects the least amount of data (both linked and not linked to you) if that's a factor in your decision making.

@peterw Yeah, that’s what I’ve used for the last couple years. I just downloaded a bunch of apps to try, but I’m quickly realizing TV Forecast is still the best for me. Reliable, simple, no extra fluff. @pratik

@Mtt let me know what you settle on. I really want off Reel - which as you say - does seem to be a bit of an island.

@JohnPhilpin I’m staying with TV Forecast. I downloaded every one mentioned in this thread and a couple others. Some are nice but either bloated or over priced. TV Forecast works with Trakt, has no social aspect, no upselling, doesn’t ask for reviews, and has a nice design. It’s my winner.
