I’ve been using NetNewsWire for RSS reading since it was released, but I’m going to go back to Reeder (version 5 just released). I’m really interested in the Read Later integrations in it. Got it for iOS and Mac.

@Mtt I’m a big Reeder fan. My article reading workflow is RSS feeds into Reeder then articles for closer reading into Instapaper.

@adamprime I used Instapaper for ages, but moved on when it kind of stalled a while back. You prefer Instapaper over Reeder's Read Later features? I've been impressed with it so far (not long, obviously).

@Mtt I moved from Reeder 4 to NetNewsWire when it was released and then took a side step to Unread. I love its formatting of pages. But now I have come back to Reeder 5, making use of its iCloud syncing. I’m also making good use of Read Later, maybe too good a use. I can see me deleting articles that I don’t get round to reading! 🙄😁

@Mtt NetNewsWire was re-released. First release was July 12, 2002; 18 years ago.

I'm excited by the re-release but the feature set isn't enough for me to leave Reeder (iOS and macOS), which I have used since 2010.

@Mtt I’ve used Instapaper on and off for years. The feature that got me to use it more recently is their send to Kindle. I haven’t really tried any of the other read-it-later services so I don’t have much to compare it with.

@khurtwilliams Yeah, I was a user back then and again with the re-release (early Beta). I really like it because of the insistence on staying current with the OS, both in features and design. But wanted to give the new Reeder a try too.

@adamprime I could see that being valuable. I have an Oasis, but I’ve only used it for full length novels and such.

@crossingthethreshold I was already subscribed to Feedbin so never needed sync. I'm sceptical of the iCloud sync feature but will evaluate and see how it goes when it's time to renew.

@Mtt @adamprime I prefer Instapaper because I can save from anywhere to Insapaper; web site, another app, etc. The "Read Later" feature of Reeder only works with Reeder.

@khurtwilliams On iOS Reeder’s Read Later is available on the Share Sheet, so sharing from sites and apps works just like Instapaper (or Pocket, for that matter). No idea how/if they implemented that on macOS.

@Mtt ah yes, I see it now. There's a new icon in the Safari Toolbar and something new in macOS Settings app under Extensions->Share Menu. Thanks for the tip.

@maique It didn't install by default in Safari. I went looking and found it under Share Menu extensions in macOS Settings.

@Mtt I didn't realize a new version of Reeder came out. The read later feature looks pretty slick! I'll have to give it a try and see.
