I make a point of not posting about politics or other similarly contentious issues but, every year, we sit down as a family to watch the Service of Remembrance from the Cenotaph to give thanks to those who died in our name.
Lest we forget.
@colinwalker I agree. When me and my fiancé was on vacation in the US a few years ago I made a point of visiting Arlington Cemetary when we were in D.C, for a similar reason.

And it also puts a face, so to speak, on war which I think is important to have.
