Paper53 suddenly popped into my brain today. Hadn’t thought about it for yonks, but it is still on the App Store. $12 a year for pro … and owned by WETRANSFER. Really?

Is anyone using it? The UI looks like it has never changed but back in the day it really had something IMHO.

@JohnPhilpin I had the Pencil™ and used it for a while, but the app felt like it tried too much to feel like a drawing book, while the Pencil didn’t feel that accurate IMHO. Or maybe it was my bad drawing skills, or both.

@JohnPhilpin Procreate is a much better and more powerful drawing program, IMO. I never got into Paper even before it was owned by WeTransfer, and I don’t like that acquisition one bit.

@JohnPhilpin yep still using it. Still just feels “light” compared to other apps. Makes a good canvas for idea sketching, color/light play. I dig the cut/crop tool that came about some time ago for slicing images also.

Paper’s 10th Anniversary

Nice little reminder of Paper’s genesis that connects to this thread. Have to say though … Procreate … oh my!
