Oh no. I have had a terrible thought.
The airport background music is “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd, which I love. I remember when the only background music you heard in public was old people music, so this is a nice change.
I heard Pearl Jam on muzak a while back.
My inner child got up, groaned, picked up his cane, and left the conversation.
@MitchWagner listening to Wish You Were Here in 2026 is the equivalent of listening to 1925’s Sweet Georgia Brown in the year WYWH came out.
When I was listening to WYWH .. I couldn’t get my head around Vera Lynn’s ‘We’ll Meet Again’ … one of my Dad’s favorites … which was just over 30 years old when WYWH was released .. and in fact got her own name check-in the boys later production .. The Wall.
Again … perspective … that is less time elapsed since we all got to hear Nevermind.
