Going to have to investigate whether to improve Known or switch to another blogging system. How is WordPress when posting from mobile these days?

@sander In a word, terrible. I mostly do linkbloging and microblogging and wordpress does not seem to be designed for that kind of lightweight activity. I struggle and wrestle with it and think about switching to something else daily. The wordpress iOS apps seem to be designed for longform blogging -- I say "seem to be" because for all I know it's rubbish for that as well.

If you're looking for an alternative blogging platform, how about micro.blog?

P.S. I do like your "note-taking" tab. I should do something similar for note-taking and writing, and another for task managers. Maybe another for blogging and social media tools. Those are three categories of tools I'm constantly fiddling with and never satisfied. For both note taking and writing I'm currently using IA Writer. But I have my eye on Bear -- gosh it's nice.

@sander why not just use micro blog? It’s pretty great on mobile web and desktop

@prologic I’ve been sticking to something I host and customise as I turn out to have opinions on this and like tinkering at least as much as writing.

@MitchWagner yeah that’s why I left the WP system. WithKnown is pretty much there and posting is frictionless and I can still tinker with the code theoretically.

Re: note taking I kept forgetting why I dismissed something so it’s best written up. Thinking of doing the same for task and bookmark management.

@sander I'd like to read about what you're doing about bookmark management. I looked into options a couple of months ago and concluded staying in the Safari-verse is the best of a bad lot of options.

@sander I'm looking for the opposite -- blogging that I don't have to host or tinker with. That's why I went to wordpress.com a few months ago. wordpress.org kept flaking on me, often when I had other things to do.

Starting Thursday, I'm going to do daily digests of my links and found images. Easier for me and readers too, I think.
