Mastodon needs to be more user-friendly, or people will just continue going to the platforms supported by billionaires, despite evidence from Twitter and Facebook that those platforms aren’t great.

I mean, yeah, but ... the thing is, even *if* Mastodon's devs and larger community *wanted* to Be More Like Twitter(TM), where's the $$ going to come from?
When do users bear some responsibility for not going with short term convenient evil vs. long term good?
