@MitchW My only question here is how many of those "questioning" FL GOP are actually aligning / aligned with Trump, and thus are happy to go on/off the record saying they are feeling dubious about something DeSantis is doing.

@three_star_dave Oh, no doubt they are Trump supporters dishing dirt on DeSantis. But I don't know what matters.

I'm a Democrat and I feel cautiously optimistic about the state of the Republican party. If Trump gets the nomination, the Republicans are running a weak candidate who has lost the popular vote in every election he's run in. If somebody else gets the nod, Trump will be inside the tent tearing the party apart.

@MitchW Yyeah. I just worry that it's a matter of "they're juggling with a live grenade and a loaded gun, and I'm pretty sure they're going to kill themselves before they can turn the weapons on us."

I think you are correct, to be sure, but the cost if we're wrong will be horrifying.

@three_star_dave Oh, absolutely. When I said I was "cautiously optimistic"--it's not like I'm actually happy about the situation.

I'll support Biden over any Republican. We need a strong President for change--a Roosevelt or Lincoln. Biden is not that.

@MitchW I agree -- though I think his more quiet, moderate approach has been an asset, too, in contrast to his predecessor. He's gotten more done than I think a lot of folk give him credit for (though not as much as I'd like to see).
