My town lets residents request trees be planted if they promise to water them. I am responsible for nine trees on my block. I have a huge water bladder I can put on my car’s roof, to drive around and water them. My wife calls me “Johnny Street Trees.” 😂
@Miraz Sorry I missed this earlier! They are a wide variety of suitable trees for the climate/region, including red maple, japanese lilac, and some non-edible plum-type trees.
@danielpunkass we used to have a program by the local power utility that they would give you trees to plant as long as you agreed to plant them on the east, west or south side of your home. The idea is that by adding natural shade to your home it would use less electricity to cool in the summer.
