Well, it's been a really rainy and windy week. Now we have a few days reprieve before Tropical Cyclone Vaianu is forecast to hit.

This afternoon: sunshine and muggy heat. 😅

I managed a brief bike ride to enjoy the air and sun.

MetService says the incoming Tropical Cyclone Vaianu could bring life-threatening winds to the North Island on Sunday.

@Miraz I don’t recall ever seeing a rotating storm pattern coded in orange. Looks ominous.

@Miraz Dang, sounds abysmal. Hope you're staying warm and dry. We're enjoying a second day of sunshine after a 4-day weekend of rain.

@ReaderJohn That’s a Tropical Cyclone while it’s up there in the tropics. It should lose a bit of intensity over the next few days as it heads south. It can still do a lot of damage down here though.

@alexandra Our house is superb so we’ll be very warm and dry thanks. I just need to tidy away some loose outdoor items (unused plant pots and the like). Glad to hear abut your sunshine — enjoy.

@Miraz Of course, you would hope so as it's a new build. Yeah, good idea to stow away any loose items prior to the storm.

Stay safe.
