I used to use a Keyboard Maestro action to open my Time Machine System Preference but with some OS upgrade it stopped working properly. It would open the General section but not specifically Time Machine.

Screenshot of the macro.

Yesterday I finally solved this via bvanpeski/SystemPreferences · GitHub:

Execute shell script: open x-apple.systempreferences:com.apple.Time-Machine-Settings.extension.

Hooray!

@Miraz how often do you open Time Machine preferences that you need a keyboard macro to find it to save time?

@khurtwilliams Every day or two I plug in a backup disk. I don't need to open the Prefs pane, but like to so I can see if the backup has started / finished. I love that KM can save me a click or two here and there. 😀

@khurtwilliams My macro also reduces screen brightness — I often run this when I go for a walk. I could probably also set the macro up to automatically trigger when I plug the disk in but I trigger it manually.
