Well well well, for the first time since I bought my M1 MacBook Pro in January 2021 I was able to successfully use Apple Pay to make an online purchase. Hurrah!

Must figure out how to use Apple Pay out in the world too. I guess it could be quite handy.

@Ddanielson 😀 I know the Watch can do it — that would be useful to save me extracting either phone or wallet with credit card to pay for stuff.

@Miraz I use Apple Pay all the time. I buy elsewhere if the website requires me to enter a credit card and does not offer Apple Pay or PayPal.

@khurtwilliams In my case it has never worked on the MacBook Pro — I’ve tried repeatedly since I bought it. For this purchase the site required some additional special credit card number that doesn’t exist on my card (I looked closely) and I thought I’d try yet again wth Apple Pay on my Mac before switching to the iPhone where I have sometimes used it successfully for online purchases. Since it worked on the MacBook Pro this time I’ll try again in future.

@Miraz Apple Pay doesn’t like non-Latin characters (e.g. ü) anywhere in the address. In the USA, it needs the card verification code (CVV). It is sometimes picky about extended USA postal codes (e.g. it likes 08540 but seems to hate 08540-1669).
