No, seriously, tell me about your “Euroskeptic” bullshit whilst I sit here frightened for my wife’s life because apparently disrupting access to medicine is an acceptable cost to the millions of people who voted Leave, then proceeded to google “What’s the EU”.

Fuck all of you.

@simonwoods Holding you and every sane Brit (aka those who want to remain in the EU) in the light.

@yorrike This is exactly how apathy happens.

To be completely honest I think more than anything I am just done with discourse in the public realm, specifically on the web. Time for me to get focused on what I can effect as much as possible, and avoid the flood of small useless information that comes as a result of the always-connected 24 hour media culture into which our society appears to have stumbled.

@simonwoods mate, come to Australia, or New Zealand, we have “universal healthcare” and we’re not afraid to use it. Screw the EU and Brexit.

@simonwoods I’m getting ready to light an awesome solo cello piece and working with some Yale administrators who were expecting Bari Weiss and are getting a live chicken and lots of celluloid instead. 🙃

@matpacker It's weird replying to this now... yet still, the tragedy notwithstanding it remains true that New Zealand in particular has great appeal, in that once in a lifetime probably won't get the chance but would totally take it kind of way. Australia is also brilliant, it seems, but neither of us are particularly great with... insects and the like, you know? 😅

@simonwoods don't believe evertyhing you see on the news, it's not entirely true that everything in Australia will kill you, in most cases it's just an exploratory bite... 🦈 🕷️🐍

@Miraz @simonwoods well there goes all the mistique...but, to be fair, in the 42 years I've been alive and living in Australia, I've seen IRL maybe 3 funnelwebs, 4-5 Brown Snakes, a couple of Tiger Snakes, 1 Salt Water Croc, and about a dozen sharks of various sizes and species. The 2 times I've nearly been killed by an animal, 1 was a Kangaroo, and the other time an Emu, and both involved me having to brake heavily to avoid running into them at about 100km/hr out in Regional NSW.

@matpacker @simonwoods Well, that sounds fair enough. I once nearly drove into a bale of straw that was lying in the middle of my lane. So there you go: even straw is dangerous!

@Miraz haha, yep, I've had that one too! And funnily enough, it was the last time my Brother In-law let me drive the tractor out on the farm... 😢
