@JohnPhilpin I switched to them for a short while, but were underwhelmed, so I switched back.

@JohnPhilpin What makes you say they've closed down? That was alarming! However, I just logged in and checked my details for a domain name there.

@JohnPhilpin To me, I think their interface was very unpredictable and not very mobile friendly.

@JohnPhilpin You know to check things like VPN and extensions, I presume. Both are things that have tripped me up in recent weeks…

@miraz

in the cold light of the morning I still can’t get to hover.com on my mac

No VPN active. Not aware of any extensions that I have added since I last visited.

And yes - different hover - but combined with my experience … I am sticking with my defence 😀

hover closed?

On Chrome - it just arrives, so clearly a Safari issue.

@Miraz

... and just for kicks switched off all extensions, emptied cache, closed down safari and reopened ... and the issue remains!

@JohnPhilpin Safari has some kind of DNS caching “optimization” that has tripped me up this way before when it gets stuck. Have you tried a full restart? That usually clears it for me.

@JohnPhilpin Right, yes. I don’t have a full explanation, but seem to remember finding some corroboration online for the fact that Safari does something “special” with DNS.

@fgtech and you were absolutely right - thankyou - still not sure why - but sure - switch it off - switch it on again.
