@jayeless We feed waxeyes (and sparrows) just in front of our house. They queue up mid-afternoon, waiting for the evening feed, and sometimes come and tap on the window to be sure I haven't forgotten them…

@Miraz Haha, that's great! The magpies at my parents' house do the same. Here we seem to have two separate groups of magpies, one that comes to the front door and one that comes to the back (I think they're separate because when they fly off, they go in opposite directions – like we're on the north/south border of two different magpie flocks). Both of them will come right up to the door, stand on the doormat and peer in through the window to see if we're inside 😆 The group that come to the front door squawk loudly if they think we're overdue on feeding them, too.
