10 minute video: Koko Ibaraki is a world class pole dancer at 50:

pole dancing remains a challenging feat of stamina, flexibility and an incredible amount of strength.

This is an actual sport that demands a phenomenal degree of athleticism. The video tuned up my attitudes!

@Miraz brilliant stuff! At uni, for my documentary module I interviewed poledancers and went to see them perform. One lady wanted to get it into the Olympics (minus the sexy bits : ) They’re so strong to be able to do what they do.

@Miraz I did French and Film and within that course I got to make a fiction film and a documentary film. For the pole dancing film research I met a few pole dancers, who were competing in a pole dancing competition. I had the idea to follow one of the contestants around as a fly on the wall docu thing, but it didn’t happen like that in the end. She was this cool ballerina and it turns out, she went onto compete in the pole dancing world championship in the Netherlands and came first, but because she removed some of her clothing, she was disquialified as it was supposed to be more about technique than sexiness. That would have been an interesting film to make. It was a bit of a drama making that documentary for one reason or another….😆
