IT’S BETTER TO ASK A STUPID QUESTION THAN MAKE A STUPID MISTAKE.

Is making a mistake worse than not asking a question?
I am torn on this one.

One one hand; it’s a simple question so why not ask it?
The other hand; you learn more from mistakes.

@joelhamill Maybe it depends on the outcome of the mistake: Oops I launched a nuclear bomb is a bit different from Oops I put too much sugar in the cup of tea…

@Miraz That is a good point. Perhaps I'm not putting the emphasis on the 'stupid' part when I think about this. My first thought was "simple mistakes are good", but that reflects more about me than the statement. I'm equating stupid with simple and they, definitely, are not the same thing.
