@odd Not really. I know one or two people that have toy helicopters, but nothing that could lift a camera.
@lmika I’m sorry, I saw just now that you specifically said you didn’t have a drone. Wish they came cheaper, so I could get one. Very handy, and most ones come with a camera.
@lmika How much detail is required — Google / Apple Maps? Google Earth? Local Council aerial photos?
@odd All good. Cases like this I wish I had one as well, or at least access to one. A service where you can rent a drone for like 2 hours would be perfect.
@Miraz The original quote had shots from Google Maps but I think they need something up close to "see what profile the roof is (klip lok size)." The section of roof in question is flat tin, and I assume they need photos to work out what sort of brackets to install (just Googled "klip lok" and it looks like the type of tin the section of roof is made of).
@Miraz Yeah. Also, the camera on the Raspberry Pi is not working so I might need to bite the bullet and just get the ladder out. 🙁
@lmika I bought a selfie stick specifically for taking photos of the gutter after climbing a ladder. I can't / don't get on the roof.
