I watched this osprey at Stewart Park (Ithaca, NY) this summer. Its posture, that nest, the feathers in the breeze. Drew it mostly with my Graphgear 1000 .5mm (4B) and some fine .3mm 2B for detail. The nest was my fave part to draw. We’ll dive into this technique in my January course. #sciart #birds

Ithaca was one of my favorite places to hike, so much that I nearly attended college there based on it! Thank you for this beautiful drawing and the nostalgia it brought me! :)

@VaylLarkin :-) So glad to hear this. It is such a beautiful area. Happy to have a reason to visit there regularly (my daughter is at Cornell). I always travel with my camera and drawing/painting gear. Watertown is the default stop in both directions from Ottawa.

@Mikehendley It would be up there, yes! They even have their own mall! hehe Cornell is amazing. I was a liberal arts major, and considered Ithaca College for voice, but ultimately went with a stronger program with less inspiring views.
