@KimberlyHirsh This is a fascinating study! If the effect for reading fiction was .14 (small, but noticeable) and was reportedly slightly higher than for reading non-fiction, I wonder what the non-fiction effect size would have been, and whether or not the difference between the two would be significant. Perhaps it's reading in general that causes the positive cognitive effects.
@chrisfoley It seems like the correlation exists for reading in general but is stronger with fiction. Which from a purely imagining reasons standpoint makes sense to me, as fiction feels like it involves more mental calisthenics.
