@kimberlyhirsh Great article. My understanding of my sexuality has definitely shifted over the past several years. I’m very grateful to have been in a community which celebrates that sort of diversity.
@dominikhoecht No worries from me. I am extremely fortunate to work in downtown New York theater, long a home of the genderqueer. But I certainly know that most of the world is not nearly as welcoming.
Plus, being a white masc cis man offers me a metric ton of privilege.
@dominikhoecht Something that I only realized recently (I think it was one of my PhD colleagues who wrote about it) is that because of what's normative, people who come out are constantly deciding whether to come out to a particular new person or in a new setting. It must be so exhausting.
