I’ve realized, with a certain amount of emotional pain, that a majority of pop-culture music and movie references that I pepper into work conversations are from the 20th century. Some Exceptions: Family Guy, Letterkenny/Shoresy, TikTok

@hjalm You are not alone. Jax regularly reminds me how often my ‘cultural references’ need to be updated to maintain my relevancy. Honey … I tell her … I was never ‘culturally relevant’ .. with my inner voice asking if ‘culturally’ is redundant.

@JohnPhilpin I feel this a lot. I’ve realized that although I’ve enjoyed amazing relationships and groups of friends and colleagues where I’ve been known and appreciated, I’ve probably never been cool. It’s okay. I can still make people laugh and despite my many quirks, some people like me and I’m okay with that.
