ah ha - so posting as a ‘reply’ - does get into the stream - regardless of the state of the web site - which thanks to @AndySylvester and @sod is just now starting to come back online - still rebuilding - and NOT with the design I have been carefully building for the past three weeks - but at least we have something.

@JohnPhilpin Yes, while you can keep copies of your replies on your own blog, their canonical home is on the Micro.blog domain. You can always post replies, even without a hosted blog. Glad that your site is back up!
