Bituminous: a dull black, intermediate-rank coal
@bradleyandroos not sure if i have been spelling it wrong all my life - or if this is one of those english /american things - but I would spell it bitumous’.
Related? different word? different meaning? 🤷🏻♂️

@JohnPhilpin @bradleyandroos According to Websters Bituminous is an adjective, meaning ‘Having the qualities of bitumen’. Which is what I understood it as. I’ve never heard of ‘bitumous’, which does sound more like a noun. But I can’t find a reference to that spelling anywhere.
@devilgate @johnphilpin I also have not heard of, nor can I find anything, regarding bitumous. However, I agree that it sounds exceptionally legitimate. 😂 I came across “bituminous” in class last night, while reviewing some earnings reports for Big Oil. Apparently _subbituminous _is also a thing.
