I’m going to play with some Micro.blog toys over the next few days:
- ADN Finder
- indiebookclub
- Indiepaper
- Quill
I’m going to play with some Micro.blog toys over the next few days:
@simonwoods I so want to try those, but I don't think the micropub plugin has been fixed, so I haven't been able to get an endpoint working. I'd love to delve into microsub, too. After my holiday, though.
@simonwoods take a look at blot - i am using indiepaper in conjunction with instapaper - not ready to give latter up completely yet
@vanessa The last time I tried indiebookclub and Quill they worked fine with a hosted Micro.blog, which is now my only website so I'm hopeful Indiepaper will also work out that way.
@JohnPhilpin Ooh blot works with these? See now I'm supposed to be avoiding other tools like that, damn you! 😂
@simonwoods Ah, should do then. I have a WordPress site, so I'm reliant on plugins. I'm sure it'll get sorted. I like the idea of having my own feed reader, too, although I'm quite happy with Newsblur. Just the principle of it all, really.
@simonwoods and of course cross posts into my micro blog stream just like my WordPress blogs
@JohnPhilpin Oh that does look good. I had already kept blot in mind for some WIP ideas and seeing it in full use keeps it right at the top of that list. Danke!
@vanessa Yeah I was on WP but decided to try MB hosted as a potential simple alternative. Still, the power of WP means you have more freedom for working these things out so it will hopefully be possible to set-and-forget a lot of the technical side of things.
@simonwoods I too have my blog running on blot, and had also built some solutions around the system to fit it in IndieWeb world. I would recommend you try that.
Also, a shameless plug, you can also try Micro.threads, if you haven’t already. Built it for my own, but it has helped few folks here.
