@JohnPhilpin They even refer to losing the tips as "lost wages" in the article! Tips should not be regarded as wages, that's just reinforcing the problem. "Lost income". As long as the consumer wants things as cheaply as possible, and companies need profit, the problem persists.
@vanessa i would agree ... even worse in the US where tips ARE recognized as income ... regardless ... if I leave a tip for good service - I expect that tip to go to the people that provide the service - and lots of models for that .. none of which should include any of it going to the PE company that owns the establishment.
