@toddgrotenhuis this has been going on for a while .. as always notice which States are at the vanguard .. also I was taken by this line ....
”In 2019, officials in nearly 30 states have proposed bills to prohibit companies from using words such as meat, burger, sausage, jerky or hot dog unless the product came from an animal that was born, raised and slaughtered in a traditional way..”
Just from that one paragraph ...,
‘Came from’ .. don’t they need to quantify what percentage?
Born raised and slaughtered in a ‘traditional’ way ... I guess we are now classing factory farms as traditional?
What will happen to fish burgers?
If you chemically and physically cannot tell the difference between the two kinds of ‘meat’ ... then I am assuming that a ‘certificate of authenticity’ will be needed and provided for every ‘real’ burger .. now THERE’S a business opportunity!
Bottom line conservatives once more demonstrating jow they got their name.
BTW - not suggesting that there shouldn’t be a clear label on the menu / in the store telling you where the burger came from / how it came to be ... much as they do with GMO .. but maybe clearer ?
wait no - DEFINITELY clearer.
Final point ... don’t give me the cost of labeling rubbish ... somehow that isn’t a problem when it comes to clearly marking something as organic ... so why so hard when it’s GMO?
