Helping a friend set up domains and services on a new domain from scratch … I was down the channel of fastmail for mail - like I use - but any thoughts on using Apple’s iCloud+ service for own domain email?

@JohnPhilpin I tinkered with iCloud+, but (and I could be wrong or remembering incorrectly) there didn’t seem to be a good way to decipher between my domain and my regular iCloud email address (@me) so I went the Fastmail route because I didn’t want them in the same Inbox folder in Mail.

@JohnPhilpin I moved a vanity domain from Google to Apple and it went really well. It is a personal domain, though, not in any way income-related. DMARK and DKIM were relatively easy to set up.

@hjalm thankyou - did you notice the problem of merged inbox that @humdrum highlighted?

@JohnPhilpin My vanity domain has been my primary for longer than I have had iCloud. For me, yes it is merged but that wasn’t an issue. No one was sending me email there. I realize I may be very exceptional.
