🎬 It seems that if I adjust a Letterboxd post … it pushes it into the feed again … sorry about that.

@JohnPhilpin ran into this issue this afternoon too. Did you find an adequate solution?
Not really - but here is what I THINK was going on.
I don’t really know Lettrboxd and have been attempting to reconcile info I have in different places with Lettrboxd, get reviews and ratings sorted etc … so that when my reader (yes singular) finally turns up, they will see consistency.
All good - BUT it looks like you can review a film multiple times - so when I thought I was editing a review - I was somehow creating a new review - that then posted itself.
Next problem - i deleted dupe posts in MicroBlog but on ‘rebuilding’ microblog, it pulled the RSS in AGAIN - complete with the dupes.
Once that was realised - of course I go back to Lettrboxd - and learnt all this and set about the clean up. Other than one review that got deleted in Lettrboxd one time too many … I think we are good. (Though still not worked out why when i edit a review. why it creates a new review.
Maybe other LettrBoxed veterans can shed light.
Does that help your case?
@JohnPhilpin that is helpful with how Letterboxd works, which I was not certain of. My biggest concern with importing the feed to my blog is that it seems to import all my Letterboxd reviews from the past. Wish I could just set it to take any new ones going forward, and not bombard the Micro.blog timeline with old reviews..
@mindofaaronw hmmm .. it didn’t seem to take my history. BUT … I am now adding more as I sort a backlog .. so for now I am creating a list which think comes in once … and then when I have time, will disconnect the feed, do the updates and then reconnect … to prevent exactly that.
@JohnPhilpin when you connected the feed did you chose “import posts to blog” or “Add posts to Micro.blog timeline”? Wondering if I maybe picked the wrong one when I tried yesterday
@JohnPhilpin Think I figured it out and got most of the movies I watched in 2022. We'll see if it cross-posts after watching something this weekend!
@mindofaaronw alright … I have just seen a nuanced difference. When I post reviews it sends an image in the feed. Yesterday I posted and clicked a button that said I had seen the movie before … it came through … as usual but as a long no to the post .. I might have gone long on the rods which might be the reason .. but I don’t think that is it.
LATER .. my mistake .. posting was identical in format to other posts.
