Just discovered this sitting in 'Drafts' - and it never got out as far as I can see ... so here goes nothing ...

Me … a little over 10 years ago …

Apple To Crush Carriers - Moving To A Direct Service Provider?

So, while I truly believe they need to get their act together in terms of a suite of / single app(s) that allows apple device communication - they can be their own ‘carrier’ - period. (Not even bothering with cellular networks)

And then me again 5 years later …

Some Things Take Time.

So, reading Cringely on Apple’s Satellite announcement today (which in turn referenced this from June 2nd

“I’m publishing now because Apple might announce its satellite plans at next week’s World Wide Developer Conference OR at the iPhone 14 announcement in September. Not being an insider, I don’t know the timing for sure, but I am convinced an announcement will be coming soon.”

…. kind of made me think ok … this time?

I mean it isn’t cellular. It isn’t ubiquitous wireless. But those are both technologies solving a connectivity problem. The satellite thing is the same .. just different tech?

I still wonder if its going to happen.

What about you?
