Adobe is buying ‘Figma’ for $20 billion.

My second reaction was $20 billion?

My first reaction was who?

@JohnPhilpin Figma has basically become the de facto service / app for UI/UX design. $20 billion still seems like a lot though.

@humdrum yes … just been looking at them … same revenue as Macromedia when Adobe bought them at 3.5 billion … might explain partly why Adobe is down around 17%

Will Adobe + Figma Be the Collaboration Engine to Drive Us to The Metaverse? ... interesting take ... but not (yet) convinced.

I can finally admit I don't know what Figma is - HA! - At least I wasn't alone. That said, not why I am sharing this link.

Much more interesting are the findings from this informal research. Conclusion? It takes time and hard work to get adopted - mainly because people get set in their ways.

Remember this? - turns out that it might not all be plain sailing ...

1] European regulators plan to launch an investigation of Adobe’s deal

2] This after the U.S. Department of Justice announced that they're preparing to sue to block the deal.

Meanwhile - 'The Information' reported 'Figma’s venture capital backers have substantial returns riding on (the deal)'

Hope they weren't counting their chicken too early.
