Been seeing a lot of these kinds of spiders this fall in our house. Siri Photo ID thinks Wolf Spider or Nursery Spider. 🤷‍♂️

@iChris Yeah, I have a lot of wolf spiders around my place. The nursery web spiders have similar markings but tend to be lighter in color, sometimes a kind of blond/orange rather than the darker brown. Both can be pretty large. I think what you have there is the wolf spider.

@Denny Wolf sounds a lot scarier than it is I think. I hope? :)

@iChris 😂 Yeah, in my experience they're not agressive in any way. Generally true of spiders. I've relocated many of them easily from inside my tiny house to the outdoors. Kinda fascinating that, in general, we humans seem to have a fear of spiders that goes beyond our fear of other insects given that generally they are pretty passive creatures. Something intrensic in their appearane really seems to freak us out!

@Denny You'll have to forgive me for not relocating this particular one as it freaked out some members of my family beyond a desire to take it outside. :)

@iChris I'd guess that there are far fewer of us that relocate than there are those that squish. Of course, then there's also the whole i.pinimg.com/originals...

@Denny I'm used to thinking of "wolf spider" as a general term for hunting spiders (as opposed to web spiders) that prowl around on your walls, not as a particular family. Live and learn.
