I’m wanting to “go it alone” with Apple Maps, but Google Maps I’m still finding is more accurate. Apple had us walking 25 minutes between two destinations, Google 10 minutes. A phone to call to the venue had Google was the more accurate, and for my mother that was very important.

@crossingthethreshold Once in a long while I'll do the same. Google still wins, by a very long margin. Apple Maps is lagging behind in so many aspects of mapping, it's not even comparable here.

@crossingthethreshold In my general hostility to Google, I've tried and re-tried map alternatives. Google Maps is far ahead of the pack.

@JMaxB I have my wish to stay away from Google, but as you say, it is just ahead of the pack with maps, at least when I am away from home.

@crossingthethreshold that’s interesting. I’ve been using Apple Maps exclusively for a few years and it’s been fine. Obviously I can’t speak for all cases though.

@jmuscara I would have agreed with you if you had talked to me about Apple Maps over the last few years. I thought that it had improved and was really happy with it, especially around home. I am traveling now and caught a significant mistake today. Of course that is just one mistake and I will continue to monitor both of them on the remainder of my travels.
