@tkoola I haven't read the book but saw the good movie. I've read interesting descriptions of how the accepting and opposing sides of the NASA establishment were turned into fictional characters in the movie. For more on the amazing computing work that was done before the computer capacity we have today, read Richard Feynman's memoirs on the Manhattan project: how they developed ways of running punch cards through calculating machines (not digital computers!) to do massive number-crunching. All for what I think was a bad end, but still.
