@TheDimPause That's not a robin, that's a robin! I've always thought it funny that European and American robins get the same name though they're so different. The red breast seems to be the only link.
@JMaxB You've just taught me something - I wasn't even aware that there was an American robin, assumed robins were the same everywhere. Wikipedia has illuminated me, your robin is a thrush!
@TheDimPause Yep, the juveniles have a spotted breast and look like the thrushes that they are, but it soon turns solid brick red. One of our most common birds. Lovely singers.
@JMaxB I'm not a birder, but I sense that Robins were more common in mid-north Indiana in my childhood than they are now.
