Yes to this: "Despite vastly different levels of rigor, different fields are treated with the ~same seriousness." A pet peeve. Physics or math research are one thing; nutrition "science" isn't science at all as mostly practiced. Yet their respective "experts" get quoted as if they were all part of an undifferentiated fraternity. I don't want to think about epidemiology right now.
