Lots of YouTubers covering the new iPad Pros making faux thumbnails of them holding the device when in actuality they donāt have a review unit, the review embargo isnāt up and itās then just a video of them reading the features from the press release š¤¦āāļø
@numericcitizen @Heiji Honestly! Itās terrible! There are some Youtubers doing good work, but my god do you have to sift through some utter dross to find itā¦ The most depressive thing as well is a lot of creators doing balanced sensible work have a a small number of views, and this trash is like 2.5 million views š
I had the same thing when trying to find some Obsidian/PARA tips recently. Nearly every video is a 15 minute video that could be a 2 minute blog post that tells you how to make a folder and a tag but doesnāt actually delve into anything of substance!
@DaveyCraney I get good YouTube content related to Obsidian from Nicole van der Hoeven and the channel called FromSergio. Others, like Danny Hester are as you describe.

@DaveyCraney @numericcitizen it's very sad, my current plan against this is searching via Kagi and every video that looks remotely like clickbait gets summerized, only then if it looks worth looking into I open it. Save a little frustration at least
I wonder how we're still not able to have a REAL youtube competitor, I mean there's peertube and vimeo but nothing remotely of the scale of youtubeš¤
Hopefully we'll figure out something better in the not too distant future to support the real, good creators
@Heiji Absolutely. They have such control over video on the internet and the ability to tweak what sort of content becomes popular itās scary.
