@Havn I am in a very similar situation, actually considering the Model Y (juniper). What car options do you consider at the moment?

@ymar.bsky.social I updated the post now, with (among other things) a picture of the cars we're considering. 🙂

But you can't beat the value of the Model Y! It has more range, space and tech for the money than any other car. The most important negatives are, the noice-level (big one for us), the boring looks (and that everyone has one over here), and that I personally don't want to give money to Musk. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a great car for the price!

I'd love a station wagon, as I kinda hate the SUV fad (even though I think they are cool) – but the options are really limited. The best ones seem to be VW ID.7 Touring and Nio ET5 Tourer. Kia and Hyundai have really solid EV platforms – so the Ioniq 5 and EV6 (and all their others offerings, tbh) are good candidates. So are the sister models VW ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq. Also considering the Opel Grandland. It doesn't have the most range (but enough), but the price seems OK, and we really want a car that's pretty silent on the inside (which I think this is).

All of these would probably be good enough for us – so the next thing is just to try them out, and see what we like. The most sensible option would probably be a two-year-old Ioniq 5, EV6, ID.4, or Enyaq – as the other models would have to be bought new.
