Seriously considering getting the new Mac Mini! I’m planning on using it for NAS purposes (media server, backups, etc. External drives.), maybe some smart home stuff, etc. I’ll probably connect it with an HDMI to my TV as well, for some light big-screen gaming.
Does The Internet agree that the base model is enough? Maybe upgrade the Ethernet port?
@Havn Yes, the base model is plenty. And even with fancy networking equipment in my house, I haven't had the need/benefit/support for faster ethernet.
@jsonbecker Yeah, probably same for me… I guess maybe only stuff like working with video over the network is the only reason to get the upgraded one..?
I don’t have a lot of cash for upgrades at the moment, but would still love to have it for a long time. But I still think 16 GB is enough for my use case. 🤔
