@Gabz I agree with a lot of this article but I think Jakob's law of UX is also relevant here:

Users spend most of their time on other sites. This means that users prefer your site to work the same way as all the other sites they already know.

Obviously UX can never progress if we adhere purely to Jacob's law, but it is something I keep in mind when designing my own UI. There is some inherent value in familiarity.

@Gabz That quote is the most tepid approach to ageism I've seen for a while.

If you want somebody with nowhere near the terrible writing choices and much more credibility, I suggest Federico Viticci. The guy knows everything there is to know about the iPad outside of Apple and I've never seen him so lazily wonder into terrible, prejudice-filled language.

@simonwoods I can see that. To me I saw it more like trolling in a way. I do enjoy reading "unpoplular opinons" and the suual snarl that may come with. I personall y laughed a little bit but I definetly see your point here.

@AlanRalph I personaly think is not so much about Intuitiveness but more about usefullness, It's all how you use your tech and what for, I think. There's nothing wrong with "Using your desktop as your files ssytem" for example. You use your tech maybe not the way it was inteded to be used but they way you want and feel more comfortable using it. If that makes any sense. I have had my Macbook for, or have used a macbook type computer for years now and I am still not fully familiar with the Os to be honest. I just learned how to take a screenshot on it the other day 😅.

@simonwoods @Gabz. "I hate to get into age..."

Then don't!

Also, I have way less trouble using SnapChat than I do multi-tasking on the iPad. In case he's collecting data points :).
