@numericcitizen yes! everytime we travled backhome Puerto Rico, everyone -- that is most certenly puerto rican -- will clap.

@numericcitizen usually has happened when the flight has been turbulent so more in relief. But I’ve heard that this clapping differs culturally too and can be intended differently

@numericcitizen Landings in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand, can be pretty difficult with turbulence and wind shear etc. People definitely applaud the pilot sometimes.

@numericcitizen I’ve only ever experienced it when there’s been bad turbulence in-flight or a rough descent/landing, or after a looong-delayed flight finally reaches its destination.
