@gr36 Twitter never had the numbers that Instagram and Facebook did, but it had the people who kept it in the pop culture. Now, I think those people have left, so all there is left is the detritus of the people they entertained. Most will soon get bored and stop checking.
I think sports Twitter is still a thing but Threads will soon cannibalize that audience.
@timapple @pratik I don’t like and never use the platform. But I have heard many stories from friends who left in protest, but have quietly returned. It’s mainly Gen X friends. Most millennials have stayed away. We’re kidding ourselves if we don’t think it maintains a wide and influential reach.
And @pratik ’s point makes that more concerning. If the quality content has left, “the people they entertained,” (aka the voting public) are now only consuming filth.
