@jeffperry ugh! this is tough, I like your WP site, looks nice and clean, however, with your skills you can make your current MB theme, which is already great, it’s so customizable and with your skills I make sure it’ll look fantastic. I am a little biased, of course, no matter how many times I may move my blog I always comeback to what I know best and feel like have more control of and creates way less friction when publishing.

@Gaby That is what I am thinking as well. Plus I love the little things that micro.blog connects with so well like integrated activitypub and comments inline with replies from micro.blog, tinylitics, reply by email, and more.

Micro.blog gets a lot right and I think the biggest issue for me is figuring out how to make this theme my own. I just updated the blockquote look and changed the date color.

Now I just need to start posting more often, working on how I want to organize those posts, and get a workflow that I like on each device I use regularly.

@jeffperry I’ve been investigating that same question over the past couple of weeks. I’ve decided to keep my main blog on Wordpress and use Micro.blog in place of all other social media as the best of both worlds for now. The community here really is special.

@robertbreen I like that approach for most, but for me I think that the path of least friction is best for me.

@gr36 I know, I know. That being said moving to micro.blog has allowed me to add really cool things like conversation buttons and tinylytics without having to slog through the robust code and theme files for WordPress sites. Micro.blog makes that easy to do. There is also something to be said about how Micro.blog makes posting simple posts without a title way less annoying or frustrating than WordPress.

I understand the sentiment of focusing on the content is what matters, but nesting a little bit and picking a platform you can feel at home with seems worth it to me.
